Hydroxypropyl Deacetylated Chitosan - HQT

HYDROXYPROPVL DEACETYL CHITOSACCHARIDE
Product Name
Hydroxypropyl Deacetylated Chitosan - HQT
Introduction to raw materials
Hydroxypropyl chitosan is a hydroxylated chitosan derivative and a water-soluble chitosan derivative suitable for acidic, neutral, and alkaline systems across the full pH range;
Physicochemical properties: unlike other chitosan derivatives, hydroxypropyl chitosan has excellent alcohol solubility and very high solubility in ethanol, making it suitable for alcohol gels and related products;
This raw material is already commercially available and is used in antibacterial products, wound dressings, wound healing, pharmaceutical carriers, tissue engineering, and other fields;
Raw Material Function
Inhibits deep fungal growth
Using a bovine hoof model, PAS staining images showed that HPCH solution reduced dermatophyte hyphal penetration. For example, on day 9, the penetration depth of Trichophyton mentagrophytes was <25 um, compared with 275 um in the untreated control group. Repeated use of HPCH nail
solution may help prevent new or recurrent fungal nail infections*

Development of cleansing and care products
Applicable to anti-dandruff products and scalp microbiome care, as well as infant and child products for eczema and diaper rash. Further testing may evaluate whether the material also enhances penetration of hair-growth ingredients such as Platycladus orientalis leaf extract;

Pharmaceutical excipient
May be tested in combination with antifungal agents, and with antibacterial agents for effects on onychomycosis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and fungal vaginitis.
